This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Act as a primary Business Risk Group advisor integrated within the business.
• Recognize, evaluate, and mitigate risks in Commercial Finance that may impact strategic, operational, financial, or reputational aspects.
• Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio management, credit administration, and second-line stakeholders.
• Function as the main regulatory advisor for Commercial Finance to business units.
• Oversee the bank’s credit risk profile in relation to the Board-approved Risk Appetite.
• Cultivate a robust credit culture throughout the bank.
• Provide a credible challenge to lending decisions, which includes problem loan management, underwriting strategies, risk ratings, nonaccrual statuses, and collateral assessments.
• Create and deliver credit-related training for first-line defense personnel.
• Manage and participate in credit committees and working groups.
• Counsel leadership on decisions related to risk.
• Track regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Compile risk reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Utilize data analytics and technology for predictive risk modeling.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• Over 12 years of experience in regulatory compliance, lending, loan review, or risk management roles, ideally within banking or financial services.
• More than 12 years of commercial credit experience, encompassing alternative energy, working capital, asset-based lending, equipment finance, leasing, and government-guaranteed lending.
• Strong comprehension of pertinent regulatory frameworks.
• Extensive knowledge of credit program design, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying regulations, including regulatory risk rating criteria and best practices in risk management.
• Exceptional analytical and data interpretation abilities.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
