Business Process Lead, Order to Cash

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership and consistently update detailed L2/L3 capability deconstruction across order and subscription management, software provisioning and fulfillment, usage consumption and rating, billing and invoicing, invoice-to-cash, and revenue recognition.

• Organize stakeholder working sessions to capture current-state processes and design future-state processes.

• Create process maps, document decisions made, and outline actionable technical requirements.

• Convert process designs into system requirements and collaborate with Product Owners and Engineering Leads throughout the design, build, and testing phases.

• Assist in maintaining current production systems and oversee next-generation platform delivery tracks.

• Incorporate operational insights into documentation and future-state designs.

• Manage change, facilitate enablement and adoption, assess stakeholder impacts, plan readiness, create training materials, and conduct post-launch verification.

• Define and report on process performance metrics.

• Sustain formal boundary agreements with peer Business Process Leads.

• Oversee capability design for software provisioning, fulfillment, usage consumption, and rating.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) and subscription billing mechanics, including analyzing mid-contract order changes and their implications for invoicing, revenue schedules, and unbilled or deferred revenue balances.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in business process design, business analysis, business architecture, or operations within a relevant field.

• Proven track record in breaking down business capabilities into comprehensive, multi-layered structures.

• Excellent facilitation skills with cross-functional business stakeholders, including experience at the director level.

• Ability to establish formal cross-functional agreements with peer process owners.

• Experience in translating business process requirements into system requirements or actionable work items for a technical delivery team.

• Strong documentation practices.

• Preferred: experience with contract modification accounting and the implications of subscription-business processes.

• Preferred: background in billing operations, collections, or revenue accounting process design.

• Preferred: familiarity with consumption or usage-based billing and rating models, including handling overages.

• Preferred: experience in software provisioning, license entitlement, or feature enablement process management.

• Preferred: expertise in indirect tax process design, encompassing taxability determination, nexus, and exemption certificate management.

• Preferred: collaboration with shared platform engineering teams on roadmap sequencing and prioritization.

• Preferred: experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced, RightRev, Oracle, NetSuite, OneSource, or CertifyTax.
