This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the Commercial Operations Team and take responsibility for the performance of the commercial operations function.
• Report directly to the COO.
• Manage, develop, and enhance the skills of the Commercial Operations Lead.
• Ensure the integrity of revenue systems and CRM data.
• Guarantee that sales compensation and commission calculations are accurate, timely, and well-communicated.
• Take charge of the deal desk, including approval frameworks, discount guidelines, and order-form standards.
• Oversee the forecasting process, which includes cadence, inputs, models, and accuracy of committed numbers.
• Build and sustain analytics for pipeline, conversion, and sales productivity.
• Conduct win/loss and churn analyses, translating findings into actionable sales adjustments.
• Design dashboards and define metrics for leadership.
• Analyze performance related to pricing, packaging, and discounting.
• Construct pricing and packaging models, including scenarios for revenue and margin analysis.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Finance on monetization strategies.
• Establish and maintain discount governance.
• Lead cross-functional growth initiatives from problem identification through to implementation.
• Assist in GTM planning, capacity modeling, quota setting, and goal structuring.
• Identify commercial inefficiencies and promote improvements in processes and tools.
• Partner with the COO and CFO for board and investor reporting.
• Define KPIs, ensure data lineage, and maintain reporting consistency.
• Develop executive narratives using business data.
• Support financing and strategic diligence and reporting efforts.
• 5–8 years of experience in management consulting, business operations, revenue operations, or strategy & operations, with some time spent in a software company.
• Proven experience in people management, including overseeing at least one direct report.
• History of managing complex analytical problems from start to finish and implementing resulting changes.
• Advanced financial and operational modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Proficiency with a CRM (Salesforce or similar) and a BI tool (Looker, Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, or equivalent).
• In-depth understanding of SaaS and GTM metrics, such as ARR, NRR/GRR, pipeline coverage, CAC payback, LTV:CAC, win rate, sales cycle, and magic number.
• Ability to present effectively to a COO, CEO, or board as an equal.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong level of autonomy and self-management capabilities.
• Practical knowledge of modern AI tools.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Preferred: Residing in the US Eastern Time zone.
• Preferred: Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
• Preferred: Background in enterprise B2B with complex sales cycles and six- and seven-figure contracts.
• Preferred: Previous experience at a top-tier management or strategy consulting firm.
• Preferred: SQL skills and experience with direct data warehouse querying.
• Preferred: Experience in sales compensation design and commission administration.
• Preferred: Experience in board and investor reporting at a venture-backed company.
• Preferred: Exposure to CPQ, quote-to-cash, or revenue recognition.
• Preferred: Interest in materials science, chemistry, manufacturing, or deep-tech markets.
• Preferred: MBA or similar analytical training.
