Business Insights Specialist – Retail and Non-Retail Portfolios

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead an in-depth analysis of historical loan data from both Retail and Non-Retail portfolios.

• Examine and reconcile data spanning multiple years.

• Identify issues related to data quality and historical discrepancies.

• Investigate the evolution of data and business definitions over time.

• Prepare thoroughly documented datasets for advanced analysis and benchmarking purposes.

• Spearhead the interpretation of complex business challenges and develop multifaceted insights.

• Spot opportunities to foster business growth or meet enterprise requirements.

• Present findings and recommended business actions to stakeholders and leadership.

• Act as the primary liaison between business teams and analytics/reporting functions.

• Provide domain expertise and context to support analytical discovery and recommendations.

• Escalate data and process issues while proposing potential solutions.

• Deliver day-to-day analytics support and services.

• Develop business requirements and facilitate project implementation.

• Collaborate with partners to provide evidence-based analytical advice aligned with strategic goals.

• Identify potential use cases and value drivers to promote business growth.

• Gather analytics demands from business teams and coordinate with the analytics hub to meet those needs.

• Clarify anomalies and outliers discovered during analysis.

• Transition business requirements into analytics specifications.

• Train business users on how to incorporate analytics into their decision-making processes.

• Execute data requests promptly and accurately.

• Investigate issues related to data and analytics.

• Lead or facilitate remediation plans addressing performance, risk, and governance challenges.

• Manage relationships across various business lines, corporate sectors, and control functions.

• Monitor emerging trends, issues, and regulatory requirements.

• Uphold risk management and control processes.

• Provide thought leadership and facilitate knowledge transfer.

• Mentor colleagues and support team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis/research.

• Experience with Retail and Non-Retail loan data or related fields.

• Familiarity with historical loan data, source systems, data definitions, and credit processes.

• Ability to analyze and reconcile data spanning multiple years.

• Capability to identify data quality issues and historical discrepancies.

• Understanding of changes in data and business definitions over time.

• Skill in preparing well-documented datasets for advanced analysis and benchmarks.

• Ability to translate complex historical data into clear, actionable insights.

• An undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree is preferred, such as in mathematics, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science.

• A graduate degree is preferred, along with progressive project experience, or higher educational qualifications and research tenure can also be considered.

• Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

• Ability to create visualizations and presentations.

• Skill in converting business requirements into analytics and reporting specifications.

• Ability to adhere to internal and external requirements, financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical asset control.
