This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +5 more states.
• Identify, source, and cultivate a pipeline of high-impact acquisition opportunities, such as multi-site independent dialysis clinics, physician practice assets, and strategic joint ventures.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of complex healthcare transactions, from initial outreach and valuation to due diligence, LOI negotiation, deal structuring, and the establishment of definitive legal agreements.
• Recognize transaction risks, regulatory challenges including Certificate of Need / CON requirements, and physician dynamics.
• Design and implement multi-year market strategies aimed at achieving census growth, clinical expansion, and increased market share.
• Conduct whitespace evaluations, physician supply/demand mapping, and competitive analyses.
• Address complex misalignments among operational, clinical, and financial leadership.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with independent nephrology groups, health system executives, and regional healthcare leaders.
• Develop, structure, and manage Medical Director Agreements, joint ventures, and value-based/integrated kidney care models.
• Collaborate with GVPs, DVPs, RODs, Field Strategy, and Finance teams.
• Mentor and nurture talent within the growth ecosystem and lead cross-functional action teams.
• Ensure accountability across legal, regulatory, compliance, finance, and clinical functions.
• Advocate for DaVita's core values and mediate conflicts among stakeholders.
• Lead Villagewide action teams, special initiatives, and strategic workstreams.
• Create mitigation strategies for organizational and market-level risks while maintaining healthcare compliance standards.
• A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA, MHA, or an equivalent master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in healthcare business development, corporate development / M&A, healthcare investment banking / private equity, healthcare management consulting, or senior physician practice/operations leadership.
• A proven history of independently originating, structuring, negotiating, and executing large, complex healthcare M&A transactions, joint ventures, or strategic health system alliances.
• Advanced financial expertise with significant experience in modeling intricate deal structures, evaluating pro formas, assessing enterprise risk, and maximizing P&L impact.
• Established ability to engage and influence C-suite executives, physician practice owners, health system boards, and internal executive vice presidents.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing direct reports or cross-functional matrix teams.
• Exceptional judgment, resourcefulness, and emotional intelligence.
• Willingness to travel 30%–50% within the designated regional territory.
