This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +5 more states.
• Proactively seek out, originate, and create a pipeline of acquisition opportunities within designated regions.
• Oversee transactions through outreach efforts, initial financial assessments, due diligence, negotiation of Letters of Intent, deal structuring, and final agreements.
• Anticipate and address challenges related to physicians, regulatory issues, Certificates of Need (CON), and valuation to successfully close deals.
• Formulate and implement multi-year growth strategies to achieve objectives in census growth, market share, and clinical outreach.
• Perform market analyses, whitespace evaluations, and assessments of physician supply and demand.
• Keep track of competitor activities, market consolidation trends, and provider affiliations.
• Build and maintain relationships with nephrology groups, leaders in health systems, and decision-makers within practices.
• Source and structure Medical Director Agreements, Joint Ventures, and arrangements for Value-Based Care.
• Adapt strategic messaging and business justifications to resonate with clinical leaders.
• Collaborate with Division Vice Presidents, Regional Operations Directors, Field Strategy teams, and Finance partners.
• Mentor operational colleagues on physician engagement and growth dynamics.
• Lead by influence across clinical, legal, regulatory, and financial teams.
• Advocate for DaVita’s core values and promote a cooperative, high-performing culture.
• Ensure adherence to healthcare standards, partner selection criteria, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify barriers to growth, devise solutions, and contribute to national Pegasus initiatives.
• A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• An MBA, MHA, or an equivalent master's degree is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare business development, corporate development/M&A, healthcare management consulting, physician practice management, or healthcare operations.
• Proven track record in originating, assessing, negotiating, and finalizing healthcare transactions, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience in analyzing pro formas, deal models, and P&L dynamics.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish immediate credibility with C-suite executives, physician leaders, and internal executive stakeholders.
• A high level of self-direction, resourcefulness, and resilience in managing long-cycle, multi-stakeholder deals.
• Willingness to travel 30%–50% within the assigned multi-state territory for partner meetings, physician dinners, and clinic visits.
