Business Consultant, Risk and Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee client workstreams from initial discovery to full implementation, which includes scoping, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and ensuring adoption.

• Act as the main daily contact for clients and lead discussions among stakeholders regarding regulatory requirements within professional services firms.

• Convert intricate business requirements into scalable recommendations for processes, technologies, data, and operating models.

• Create and oversee consulting plans, timelines, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and status updates.

• Evaluate current laws, processes, systems, and data to uncover opportunities for improvement.

• Direct solution configuration, data migration planning, testing, quality assurance, and change management initiatives.

• Identify and address delivery risks, issues, and escalations while suggesting corrective actions.

• Develop and deliver executive-ready presentations that convey findings, recommendations, decisions, and results.

• Collaborate with sales and engagement leaders on scoping, estimates, and proposed strategies.

• Contribute to Harbor's consulting methodology, reusable assets, quality benchmarks, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Mentor junior team members and enhance Harbor's delivery methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in a law firm or other regulated professional service firm, preferably with knowledge of risk or business acceptance functions; alternatively, experience in a management consultancy providing guidance to professional services firms.

• Proven experience in leading significant workstreams or complex projects in a client-facing setting focused on optimizing business processes, including technology implementation or adaptation.

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, finance, or a related discipline.

• Capability to transform ambiguous business challenges into structured, actionable solutions.

• Experience in managing stakeholder expectations, facilitating workshops, and communicating effectively with both executives and technical teams.

• Advanced analytical abilities and strong skills in Excel, presentation tools, and business systems or data platforms.

• Proficiency in managing competing priorities, delivering high-quality work, and exercising sound judgment in fast-paced environments.
