Business Analyst – Student Financial Assistance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead the gathering of requirements through interviews, workshops, and consultations with stakeholders.

• Document and oversee business, functional, non-functional, reporting, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

• Analyze current processes and create future workflows, user stories, use cases, and business requirements.

• Manage requirements and traceability for extensive, intricate software implementations.

• Analyze workflows related to loans, approvals, accounting, ERP/financial integrations, and regulated transactions.

• Convert business requirements into technical features while collaborating closely with developers and solution teams.

• Assist with requirements for business intelligence reporting and dashboard development.

• Engage in options analysis, impact assessments, solution evaluations, and business process enhancements.

• Provide support for testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation readiness, training, deployment, and transition to operations.

• Aid in fulfilling identity, privacy, authentication, security, and compliance requirements as necessary.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, developers, and vendors on the IT modernization initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst.

• More than 5 years of experience in an IT or software development setting.

• At least 2 years of experience in the government/public sector.

• Minimum of 2 years working with financial loan systems.

• Proven experience with complex IT/software implementations and extensive sets of requirements.

• Familiarity with financial workflows and ERP/accounting integrations.

• Strong background in requirements gathering, process analysis, user stories, use cases, and stakeholder management.

• Experience in implementing complex case management systems (preferred).

• Background in education, student services, or financial assistance environments (preferred).

• Experience with business intelligence products, dashboards, and reporting requirements (preferred).

• Knowledge of public-sector options analysis and significant technology investments (preferred).

• Experience with identity, privacy, authentication, or security solutions (preferred).

• Business Analysis certification such as CBAP/BABOK or an equivalent (preferred).

• Familiarity with SaaS, COTS, and/or custom software implementations (preferred).

• Must possess legal entitlement to work in Canada through Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a Valid Work Permit.
