Business Analyst – Canadian Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in the comprehensive development and implementation of Form3’s Canadian Real-Time Rail (RTR) payment gateway.

• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager.

• Comprehend and evaluate payment schemes, product specifications, and business requirements.

• Convert requirements into distinct, actionable tasks.

• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, as well as functional and non-functional specifications.

• Assess the implications of product modifications and enhancements.

• Document requirements to facilitate successful delivery.

• Utilize data and analysis to generate insights and support well-informed product decisions.

• Engage with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and the broader business during the product development lifecycle.

• Cultivate a thorough understanding of the Canadian payments ecosystem and act as a reliable source of payments knowledge.

• Manage essential Business Analyst tasks and deliverables from the requirements phase to successful product launch.

• Take part in a four-stage interview process involving the Talent Team, Senior Business Analyst, Senior Product Manager, Heads of Product, and Chief Product Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in payments, banking, or FinTech sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of the Canadian payments ecosystem and infrastructure, preferably including Interac e-Transfer or other Canadian payment systems.

• Proficient in translating intricate business, product, or payment scheme requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.

• Strong technical acumen regarding APIs, cloud technologies, and contemporary system architectures.

• Familiarity with the product development lifecycle and experience in supporting products from the requirements stage to delivery.

• Excellent analytical abilities, including experience utilizing data to facilitate decision-making.

• Skills in stakeholder management and communication, capable of simplifying complex payment concepts into clear, actionable insights.

• Capacity to work independently, take initiative, and function efficiently in a dynamic environment.

• Candidates must reside in Ontario, Canada.

• Previous experience with RTR is not a requirement.

• Familiarity with the broader North American payments landscape, including FedNow or RTP, is advantageous.

• Knowledge or experience in real-time or instant payments is a plus.

• A broader understanding of payment schemes, payment infrastructure, and the mechanisms by which financial institutions transfer funds is beneficial.
