Brokerage Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, recruit, and mentor the operations team; establish standards and uphold accountability

• Act as the registered principal for operations and ensure Written Supervisory Procedures are current

• Supervise daily reconciliations, operational controls, and exception assessments

• Serve as the primary liaison for Apex Clearing and address breaks, rejections, and service challenges

• Investigate and resolve issues related to positions, cash, trades, settlements, margins, and buying power

• Manage equities and listed options throughout the trade lifecycle, including exercises, assignments, and corrections

• Oversee money transfers, ACATS, new account setups, and account management

• Handle margin calls, corporate actions, and various operational exceptions

• Identify ongoing issues and implement long-term solutions

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to automate manual processes and enhance dashboards and exception monitoring

• Support Compliance with FINRA and SEC examinations, inquiries, and regulatory reporting

• Assist with advisor onboarding and book transitions

• Report to the Head of Brokerage and act as the ultimate escalation point for operational challenges

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in brokerage, clearing, or broker-dealer operations

• More than 2 years in a leadership or operations management role

• FINRA Series 24 required, or willingness to obtain it within 90 days of employment

• Series 7 and SIE are mandatory

• Experience with a fully disclosed clearing firm, preferably Apex

• Strong understanding of the U.S. securities trade lifecycle, cashiering, ACATS, margin, and corporate actions

• Substantial experience with equities and listed options

• Experience in addressing position, cash, trade, settlement, or reconciliation discrepancies

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and managing large data sets across multiple systems

• Availability to provide coverage during U.S. market hours

• Bonus: Series 4, Options Principal, or Series 9/10

• Bonus: Experience with an IBD or fintech broker-dealer

• Bonus: SQL proficiency

• Bonus: Familiarity with APIs, SFTP, CSV, JSON, FIX, or similar financial data formats

• Bonus: Experience in building or automating reconciliations, dashboards, or exception monitoring

• Bonus: Knowledge of CAT/CAIS, Rule 605/606, or related broker-dealer regulatory reporting

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

• Must reside within the United States
