This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Educate field service personnel in the designated region on ESQEQ, Smith Driver Training, and training specific to the region.

β€’ Conduct jobsite safety audits for field service personnel to ensure adherence to safe work practices and compliance with Shermco's health and safety policies.

β€’ Organize and facilitate documented quarterly safety meetings at both departmental and regional levels.

β€’ Support the creation, execution, and supervision of safe work practices.

β€’ Collaborate with field personnel, local management, and regional EHS to foster a robust safety culture.

β€’ Confirm the application of standard operating procedures and assess field personnel's qualifications.

β€’ Work alongside EHS during investigations of accidents or incidents.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Prefer an Associate's degree from an accredited two-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, or equivalent experience and training from military service (e.g., Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, NAVY Seabee, or Navy conventional/Nuclear EM).

β€’ A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.

β€’ Proficient PC skills are necessary, including email, internet navigation, data entry, and MS Excel; experience with PowerDB is a plus.

β€’ Ability to work safely and comply with all electrical safety protocols is essential.

β€’ Preferably possess OSHA 30 Hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training can be provided for each certification.

β€’ Must be able to drive locally/regionally on a daily basis and be available for occasional overnight travel.

β€’ Experience in inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, performing start-up, and collecting data from low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems (480 Volt to 600 kV), including instrument transformer tests.

β€’ Proficient in power transformer testing β€” Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.

β€’ Capable of testing both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.

β€’ Familiar with cable testing β€” Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.

β€’ Experience in automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.

β€’ Knowledgeable in testing low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.

β€’ Ability to perform moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.

β€’ Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.

β€’ Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.
