This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Board Directors provide guidance on strategy and share accountability for the governance and financial wellbeing of the Alliance.
• Board Directors participate in three meetings annually and are required to serve on at least one standing committee.
• Board Directors are entrusted with the legal responsibilities of care, loyalty, and adherence to the mission.
• Board Directors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest each year.
• Board Directors are expected to uphold Fòs Feminista’s safeguarding policy.
• Members of standing committees assist the Board’s efforts through six committees: Advocacy; Audit and Risk Intelligence; Finance and Investment; Governance; Partnerships and Performance; and Resource Mobilization.
• The term for Board service is three years, with the possibility of renewing for up to two additional consecutive terms.
• The Governance Committee will reach out to shortlisted candidates and coordinate interviews in late October and early November.
• Proven experience in financial leadership, gender-lens investing, innovative financing, or promoting women's economic empowerment.
• Background in strategic communications and external relations.
• Strong connections within civil society networks, feminist organizations, or social movements, especially in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Global South.
• Experience serving on a board or in senior leadership roles, particularly within organizations in the Global South.
• A commitment to Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Justice (SRHRJ) with the capability to articulate this work.
• Awareness of the evolving political, economic, and global public health landscape.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate diverse cultures and institutional contexts.
• Capacity to connect Fòs Feminista with new partners, funders, and other social justice movements.
• Candidates for youth leadership should be under 25 at the time of election and possess considerable experience in youth-led movements, digital advocacy/participation, and community or health organizing.
• A Curriculum Vitae and a one-page cover letter are required for application.
• Applications are accepted in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
• Fòs Feminista organizes, finances, or reimburses eligible travel expenses related to organizational and governance duties.
• Board service is voluntary and unpaid.
