Blade Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Regularly engage with Service Management, clients, internal technical teams, other GE Onshore wind farms, contractors, and the local community.

• Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine blades.

• Deliver onsite technical assistance and practical blade repair, inspection, and maintenance.

• Prepare service documentation throughout the repair process by utilizing work instructions.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Technical teams to define repair methodologies.

• Liaise with management and team members to incorporate client requests into job planning and execution.

• Lead and coordinate skilled labor working on customer sites.

• Compose technical reports, procure materials, and prepare job status updates, customer reports, timesheets, and expense reports.

• Exercise sound judgment to control costs and expenditures.

• Uphold a strong safety mindset.

• Conduct and ensure proper maintenance and troubleshooting of assets.

• Maintain records using GE software management tools and databases.

• Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS, and related policies and procedures.

• Immediately report errors, violations, incidents, or issues using GE reporting systems.


⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant ITI/Diploma/Graduate qualification with a minimum of 5 years of recent education in an English-medium environment.

• Over 5 years of practical experience in composites and epoxy blade repairs.

• Strong understanding of EHS policies and procedures.

• Willingness to work irregular hours and durations in remote locations.

• Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

• Must be physically fit and able to climb towers.

• Solid theoretical knowledge of blade repair materials.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and technical documents.

• Good understanding of blade inspection processes.

• Familiarity with blade repair tools, equipment, and their operation.

• GWO and rope access certification is a plus.

• Excellent skills in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

• Demonstrated experience in leading field service teams.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal capabilities.

• High level of adaptability.

• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Access.

• Basic knowledge of First Aid.
