Biomedical Equipment Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct and document preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on general, specialized, and advanced medical equipment and systems.

• Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to facilitate electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs.

• Effectively troubleshoot and repair assigned equipment modalities while adhering to established protocols.

• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics; repair and calibrate equipment according to company specifications.

• Prioritize and manage service work orders to fulfill contractual service obligations.

• Operate PC hardware and Microsoft-based software for documentation and service management purposes.

• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers.

• Submit precise and timely service reports, time sheets, expense reports, and other necessary documentation.

• Independently oversee service responsibilities and fulfill customer expectations.

• Occasionally travel to support nationwide service requirements.

• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in Electronics, completion of DoD Biomedical Equipment Repair School, or equivalent technical experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining medical equipment.

• Strong understanding of electronic systems and their operation, maintenance, and repair.

• Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating complex scientific or biomedical equipment.

• Capability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and color-code conventions used in electronics.

• Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and testing electronic and electromechanical systems.

• Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to reliable transportation.

• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to cultivate productive working relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to sit while documenting service work on a computer.

• Capability to stand and walk for extended durations while servicing equipment.

• Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, and reach.

• Proficient in using hands for handling small tools and equipment.

• Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color recognition, and depth perception.

• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and move up to 125 lbs with assistance.
