This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee the creation and implementation of algorithms and probabilistic models for the analysis of array and NGS data, focusing on genotyping and genetics applications.
β’ Utilize statistical, computational, and machine-learning techniques to analyze extensive genetic and epigenetic datasets.
β’ Design and create production-quality software that automates analytical workflows, facilitating robust analysis at scale.
β’ Contribute to the automation of unit, integration, and regression testing for bioinformatics pipelines.
β’ Establish and maintain CI/CD workflows for ongoing integration, validation, and dependable software delivery.
β’ Develop and enhance telemetry, logging, and monitoring systems to boost observability and operational resilience.
β’ Execute and refine Software Lifecycle practices, including requirements traceability, design documentation, verification, and validation.
β’ Employ JAMA and JIRA to enhance structured software development.
β’ Work collaboratively with wet-lab scientists, product management, and engineering teams to convert scientific needs into validated computational solutions.
β’ For senior candidates, offer mentorship and technical support to scientists and engineers.
β’ PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline.
β’ Extensive knowledge in bioinformatics algorithm development, statistical modeling, and computational genomics.
β’ Familiarity with array and NGS technologies.
β’ Proven experience in developing production-quality software within scientific or commercial settings.
β’ Experience in large-scale genomic data analysis.
β’ Proficiency in machine-learning methodologies.
β’ Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.
β’ Background in production software development practices.
β’ Understanding of testing automation, CI/CD, and software lifecycle methodologies.
β’ Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
β’ For senior candidates, prior experience in providing technical leadership and mentoring peers.
