Billing Specialist II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create advertising billing files for designated newspaper properties and ensure the accuracy of data.

• Execute month-end processing tasks.

• Act as a subject-matter expert in ad rating using the Mactive system.

• Manage “wrong rate” and “rating error” queues in Mactive and approve ads for print.

• Examine contracts and rates entered by the SSC.

• Serve as the primary contact for local advertising departments concerning billing matters.

• Send statement files to Shoom for eInvoicing.

• Investigate and resolve billing issues and internal inquiries.

• Train new employees on systems and data entry processes.

• Conduct testing and research for projects or system upgrades.

• Provide assistance with unapplied payments and necessary adjustments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding of accounting processes and controls.

• Capability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, and financial documents.

• Proficiency in creating Excel spreadsheets with necessary formulas.

• Ability to address practical problems with limited standardization.

• Self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, team collaboration abilities, and a customer-oriented approach.

• An Associate’s degree or two years’ experience within MNG is required.

• Familiarity with automated billing systems, preferably Mactive and/or PBS.

• Completion of a full pre-employment background check; must be willing to undergo and pass required screenings.
