This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize billing manuals provided by the provider to gather guidelines and requirements for billing.
• Manage the import verification process and escalate issues related to import/export files.
• Execute special handling of billing, which includes interim bills, reviewing overlaps, and redistributing funds for accurate claim creation.
• Investigate and resolve billing rejections.
• Timely submission of technical or professional medical claims to insurance companies.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical collections or billing.
• Proficient understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI.
• Intermediate familiarity with third-party billing guidelines.
• Knowledge of billing claim forms, specifically UB04/1500.
• Understanding of payor contracts at an intermediate level.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Intermediate working knowledge of health information systems, such as EMR, claim scrubbers, and patient accounting systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with one or more systems including EPIC, Cerner, STAR, Meditech, CPSI, Invision, PBAR, All Scripts, or Paragon.
• Preferred: Knowledge of the DDE Medicare claim system.
• Preferred: Awareness of government regulations and guidelines.
