This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Collect, post, and oversee patient accounts receivable and payments.
• Prepare and review statements for patients and clients.
• Assess delinquent accounts and communicate for collection purposes.
• Submit insurance claims, ensure accurate medical coding and data entry, and perform follow-ups on claims.
• Execute word processing tasks and prepare office forms.
• Administer and document urinalysis testing forms, providing information to clients.
• Manage multiple phone lines, directing calls, answering inquiries, and providing general program information.
• Liaise with community agencies, offering information and referrals.
• Order and maintain inventory of office supplies.
• Schedule clients, assist with intake paperwork, collect fees, and obtain insurance details.
• Maintain agency, clinical, and client-file records; copy and purge files when necessary.
• Manage clinician schedules using computer-based scheduling systems.
• Enter contracted or non-clinical services into the billing system.
• Receive freight and handle correspondence and mail.
• Interpret client accounts and clarify information to clients.
• Identify and resolve patient billing issues.
• Prepare deposits and administrative reports.
• Execute agency financial controls as directed.
• Record updates to client records and complete authorizations for information sharing.
• Maintain office equipment and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
• Submit necessary reports to the state, GOBHI, and other agencies.
• Gather and distribute administrative information and forms.
• Open and close the front office, ensuring the security of confidential information.
• Provide backup support to other Office Support or Billing Specialists as needed.
• Work under the supervision of the Billing Supervisor or Office Support Supervisor; assist in training new specialists as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. certificate required.
• Must be computer literate, capable of creating and understanding spreadsheets, utilizing word processing, and learning clinical software systems.
• Ability to type quickly and accurately is essential.
• Knowledge of or willingness to acquire basic understanding of medical billing, coding, and third-party operating procedures.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
• Must comply with regulations regarding client confidentiality.
• Functional knowledge of business English and medical terminology, or the ability to acquire it.
• Good spelling and basic math skills are required.
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping skills for account balancing is necessary.
• Ability to quickly learn assigned tasks and follow general office procedures.
• Strong time management skills are essential.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.
• In-depth knowledge of standard office equipment is required.
• Excellent communication skills in both written and oral formats are essential.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must pass all criminal history check requirements as mandated by ORS 181.536-181.537 and OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance for privately owned vehicles used for CCS business.
• Proof of liability coverage of $300,000 or more for bodily injury and $100,000 or more for property damage is required.
• May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• $5,500 Hiring Bonus available until 10/31/26 (2-year Commitment, Staggered-taxed Payout).
