Billing Representative, Lab Travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Investigate, analyze, and rectify laboratory travel discrepancies.

• Submit claims to the relevant payers for reimbursement when necessary.

• Input comprehensive, precise, and compliant account notes into the billing system.

• Ensure complete audit trails are maintained within billing systems.

• Attach and preserve necessary documentation for compliance and audit preparedness.

• Review documentation for thoroughness and accuracy prior to claim submission.

• Assist with internal and external audits by supplying documentation and claim history records.

• Comply with CMS, HIPAA, Medicare, and organizational compliance protocols.

• Work collaboratively with billing leadership and both internal and external departments to enhance operational efficiency and reimbursement results.

• Uphold productivity, quality, and compliance standards set by management.

• Support colleagues, share best practices, and contribute to departmental objectives.

• Execute additional related duties and projects as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Basic computer skills are required.

• Understanding of time zone variances is essential.

• Strong attention to detail is necessary.

• Ability to adhere to compliance guidelines is required.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities are essential.

• Capability to communicate professionally and effectively with both external and internal customers.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and support team initiatives.

• Proficiency in billing systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business applications is essential.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is necessary.

• Knowledge of Excel is preferred.

• Experience working with skilled nursing facilities and hospice providers is preferred.

• Medicare billing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
