Billing Representative – Lab Travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Investigate, analyze, and rectify laboratory travel discrepancies.

• Submit claims to the relevant payers for reimbursement as necessary.

• Input precise, detailed, and compliant notes into the billing system.

• Maintain comprehensive audit trails to support claim processing and validation of reimbursements.

• Attach and keep required documentation for compliance and audit preparedness.

• Examine documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to claim submission.

• Assist in internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and records of claim history.

• Comply with CMS, HIPAA, Medicare, and organizational regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with billing leadership and both internal and external departments to enhance operational efficiency and reimbursement results.

• Uphold productivity, quality, and compliance standards as set by management.

• Assist colleagues, share best practices, and contribute to departmental objectives.

• Perform additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Basic computer proficiency is essential.

• Understanding of time zone variations is required.

• Strong attention to detail is necessary.

• Ability to adhere to compliance guidelines is important.

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills are needed.

• Capability to communicate professionally and effectively with both external and internal customers.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and foster a positive work atmosphere.

• Proficiency in billing systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business applications is required.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment is crucial.

• Knowledge of Excel is preferred.

• Experience with skilled nursing facilities and hospice providers is preferred.

• Medicare billing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of billing processes is a plus.
