Billing Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and authorize new project setups.

• Oversee ongoing projects by assessing labor, expenses, and disbursements.

• Handle project billing in line with company revenue recognition policies.

• Prepare pre-billing documentation and ensure timely invoicing.

• Record accounting entries and manage invoice distribution.

• Keep project records, including contracts and related documentation.

• Examine variances and provide reports and recommendations to management.

• Work alongside Project Managers to uncover additional billing opportunities.

• Monitor funding and inform Project Managers about budget usage and remaining funds.

• Assess and investigate expenses that have not been billed to clients.

• Assist with project closeout activities and account reconciliation upon project completion.

• Help with internal audits and other financial reporting requirements as necessary.

• Facilitate billing activities for projects across the organization while collaborating with Project Managers and internal stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting, project accounting, billing, or a similar financial role.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.

• Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Deltek Vision is a plus.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Depending on the assignment, clients may necessitate Government security screening, criminal record checks, or periodic drug and alcohol testing.

• Verification of background information from the previous five years, including Canadian residency, may be required.
