Billing and Collections Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance to the Billing and Collections team.

• Aid leadership in upholding confidentiality and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Submit authorization requests and appeals to insurance companies and follow up via fax, phone, or online.

• Request hospital records promptly and track until received.

• Send or mail appeal letters, claims, and relevant correspondence to insurance companies with necessary documentation.

• Record completed accounts for monitoring purposes.

• Review and distribute incoming faxes, mail, and emails to the appropriate personnel.

• Associate correspondence with accounts in the electronic records system for tracking.

• Contact insurance companies to confirm receipt of claims when necessary due to payer issues or time-sensitive situations.

• Review and complete rebills as required.

• Assist in training new employees, ongoing training, and cross-functional initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Outstanding organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Reliable, self-motivated individual.

• Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining a professional demeanor.

• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Consistent attendance is required.

• Must adhere to Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.
