This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +5 more states.
• Deliver patient care in both Spanish and English.
• Gather relevant patient history based on the type of visit.
• Identify and address any deviations from normal health indicators.
• Conduct, order, and interpret various screening and diagnostic tests; manage any abnormal results.
• Create a care plan that may involve treatment, referrals to medical professionals, or medication prescriptions.
• Educate patients about their care plan, preventive measures, and health promotion strategies.
• Consult with the Medical Director or on-call clinician as necessary.
• Obtain informed consent when required.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and relevant community agencies and resources as needed.
• Evaluate intervention effectiveness and referral progress as appropriate.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation.
• Oversee support staff concerning routine patient orders.
• Work alongside the Telehealth Manager and Telehealth APC Manager to achieve team objectives, productivity standards, and assigned duties.
• Ensure patient-centered care and facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow during visits.
• Analyze scientific studies using foundational research principles; contribute current insights for ongoing protocol development.
• Stay informed about advancements in reproductive healthcare and fulfill continuing education requirements for necessary licensure and certification.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards, including proper medication dispensing.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with regulations, including HIPAA.
• Satisfy coding and documentation standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer technology and software related to the Telehealth Clinician role, including a willingness to learn new systems and become adept in PPNCS’ telehealth platform and EHR systems.
• Acknowledge ethical, legal, and professional challenges associated with reproductive healthcare.
• Communicate clinical and professional concerns to the Associate Medical Director of Family Planning.
• Adhere to protocols and training requirements for expanding the scope of practice or acquiring new skills, such as colposcopy, IUD insertion, ultrasound, and MAB services.
• Foster understanding and acceptance of the Telehealth Bilingual Clinician - Spanish role among colleagues, clients, and the community.
• Maintain familiarity with Planned Parenthood policies and procedures and apply them to patient and clinic services.
• Prescribe all FDA-approved contraceptive methods.
• Provide follow-up care for medication or surgical abortions.
• Refer patients for medication or surgical abortions, prenatal care, or adoption services.
• Counsel clients who are HIV positive.
• Conduct evaluations and manage patients undergoing medication abortions.
• Participate in the onboarding of new employees and assist with the cross-training of current staff.
• Must hold a current, active, unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse and APN or Physician Assistant in the state of application.
• Current national board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant is essential.
• Possess a DEA license or the ability to acquire one upon hiring, along with enrollment in the Controlled Substance Monitoring Program as required in the state of application.
• An advanced degree is required, with a minimum of a master’s degree.
• Proficient in both English and Spanish.
• Achieve a score of 80% or higher on the PPNCS Bilingual Certification Assessment.
