This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Deliver patient education via telephonic consultations for specialty pharmacy patients.
β’ Evaluate and convey information regarding disease-state management, side-effect reduction, medication administration, storage, and therapeutic suitability.
β’ Respond to clinical inquiries from patients and caregivers.
β’ Record patient consultations and interventions in the pharmacy software system.
β’ Analyze and clinically assess specialty medication prescriptions.
β’ Reach out to providers and patients to confirm prescription details and expedite order processing.
β’ Verify and validate the legitimacy of controlled substances.
β’ Communicate with physicians for new prescriptions and consult with healthcare professionals regarding pharmaceutical inquiries.
β’ Coordinate with pharmacies for prescription transfers.
β’ Collaborate with physicians to transition prescriptions to generic, biosimilar, or preferred medications whenever feasible.
β’ Confirm prescription information entered by order entry personnel.
β’ Address clinical questions posed by the pharmacy team.
β’ Adapt to new workflows and resolve unique pharmaceutical challenges.
β’ Stay updated on specialty pharmacy therapies, new drug approvals, and treatment guidelines for various disease states.
β’ Support other pharmacists and mentor less experienced pharmacists.
β’ Document and report any medication errors.
β’ Implement medication-error reduction and prevention strategies in line with quality department and ISMP standards.
β’ Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations and ethical standards.
β’ Perform additional duties as assigned.
β’ Graduate of an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy holding a B.S. Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
β’ Possess a current, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of residence.
β’ Commitment to ongoing education credits to maintain active licensure.
β’ Strong clinical background is essential.
β’ A minimum of two years of experience as a licensed practicing Pharmacist is preferred.
β’ Experience or a strong understanding of Specialty Pharmacy medications is advantageous.
β’ Participate in, comply with, and support the objectives of the compliance program.
β’ Ability to consistently engage cooperatively and respectfully with fellow employees.
β’ Must reside in an eligible U.S. state; remote work is not available in Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington DC, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
β’ Work schedule: M-Th 8am-7:30pm CT, F 8am-6:30pm CT, with variations.
