Bilingual Medical Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Manage and prioritize patient calls and messages, recognizing urgent issues and escalating cases as necessary.

• Assist healthcare providers with patient follow-ups, medication oversight, and care coordination.

• Relay laboratory results, prescriptions, and treatment directives under the guidance of providers.

• Offer compassionate and professional support throughout the entire patient care experience.

• Document patient interactions, medical histories, and provider notes with accuracy.

• Keep electronic medical records (EMRs) comprehensive and current.

• Ensure all documentation aligns with clinical, legal, and organizational requirements.

• Organize appointments and manage patient follow-up schedules.

• Facilitate referral management and communication among providers, patients, and external healthcare entities.

• Assist with administrative processes, billing coordination, and report creation as necessary.

• Uphold confidentiality while handling protected health information.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2+ years of clinical experience in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, or healthcare organizations.

• A Licensed Medical Assistant or an equivalent clinical certification is mandatory.

• Preference will be given to Registered Nurses (RN) or Medical Doctors (MD).

• Resume should clearly state current license or certification status.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care standards.

• Experience with patient triage and urgency assessment is essential.

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems is required.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Advanced English proficiency (C1) is necessary.

• Strong organizational abilities and remarkable attention to detail are crucial.

• Must be comfortable working remotely during U.S. business hours.
