This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate disability claims from the initial decision through the development of case management plans.
• Identify necessary supports, oversee treatment, and monitor the progress of case management plans.
• Collaborate with claimants, employers, and providers associated with each case.
• Proactively manage files and maintain regular communication with all stakeholders.
• Evaluate the utilization of claims tools such as rehabilitation and request ongoing medical information as required.
• Review key dates throughout the claim lifecycle and regularly update case management plans.
• Ensure that assigned-case tasks adhere to service-level standards.
• Make timely and potentially challenging decisions and communicate them effectively.
• Handle escalations with employers and claimants.
• Cultivate relationships with claimants, treatment providers, physicians, employers, group administrators, human resources, and lawyers.
• Ensure efficient and consistent use of the electronic case management system.
• A university degree or a completed college diploma in areas such as occupational health, disability management, kinesiology, education, human resources, or legal studies is preferred but not limited to these fields.
• A combination of education and/or experience demonstrating strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a professional environment showcasing critical decision-making, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, autonomy, and adaptability.
• Experience in evaluating various information sources to inform decisions and advise clients is a definite advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Strong technical skills with the ability to multitask across multiple software applications while maintaining detailed online notes and tracking information.
• Bilingualism is required to cater to the needs of English-speaking clients.
• Proficient English language skills are necessary.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills.
• An innovative mindset with the capability to influence operational change while focusing on client needs.
• Experience in providing customer care, support, and assistance, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Strong initiative, leadership, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across all organizational levels.
