This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish trust and build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Handle inbound calls from individuals seeking financial education or credit counseling assistance.
• Facilitate one-on-one credit counseling sessions via phone.
• Assess client budgets, income, credit status, and debt responsibilities.
• Offer tailored recommendations on debt management programs, bankruptcy alternatives, credit remediation, collections, and credit reporting challenges.
• Provide financial education and assist clients in budgeting.
• Aid clients in enrolling in ACCC programs.
• Process consumer applications by entering client data and budget information into internal systems and affiliate databases.
• Follow up with potential clients to motivate them to begin or continue counseling.
• Enroll eligible clients into debt consolidation or financial assistance programs.
• Validate client information using internal databases and approved resources.
• Propose customized debt management plans and repayment strategies.
• Educate clients about credit reports, credit scores, and sound financial practices.
• Record client interactions and maintain precise, confidential records.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish – required.
• Sales experience – required.
• Candidates from the West Coast – required.
• Strong skills in closing, persuasion, and relationship-building.
• Naturally empathetic with outstanding listening abilities.
• Comfortable discussing financial matters and suggesting solutions.
• Experience in call centers, financial services, credit, banking, or counseling is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in credit counseling, financial coaching, or debt management.
• NFCC Credit Counselor Certification must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
• Experience in analyzing client budgets, income, and debt to formulate actionable repayment plans.
• Background in providing one-on-one counseling or coaching to clients in a confidential environment (phone and/or online).
• Daily proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods (up to 8+ hours/day).
• Capable of talking on the phone for long durations.
• Frequent use of hands/fingers for typing and operating a keyboard, mouse, and phone.
• Able to wear a headset for prolonged periods.
• Sufficient vision to read computer screens and documents.
• Adequate hearing to comprehend customer conversations via phone.
• Occasional walking or standing, depending on office layout or home arrangement.
• Ability to lift up to 10–15 lbs., such as small office supplies or materials (optional; depends on setting).
• Knowledge of credit reports, credit scoring, and consumer lending preferred.
• Experience in educating clients on credit reports, scores, and healthy financial habits preferred.
• Experience in recommending debt management plans and repayment strategies preferred.
• Availability to work one Saturday per month preferred.
• Competitive hourly wage of $21–$23 plus bonus opportunities.
