This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Design, develop, and sustain interactive dashboards and reports utilizing Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.
• Convert complex business needs into clear, user-friendly, and efficient visualizations.
• Create operational, tactical, and executive reports for program health, KPI monitoring, performance trends, and compliance oversight.
• Establish drill-down and self-service reporting functionalities.
• Generate and uphold calculated fields, measures, KPIs, and business logic.
• Create high-volume transactional reports with data export functionalities.
• Enhance dashboards for improved performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Connect to and model data from relational databases, cloud data warehouses, flat files, and APIs.
• Construct and maintain semantic data models, published data sources, and reusable datasets.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on pipelines, reporting views, aggregations, and data quality assurance.
• Support data governance by documenting definitions, lineage, and refresh schedules.
• Deploy, configure, and administer Tableau Server, including environments with high availability.
• Manage Power BI Service workspaces, capacities, and gateways.
• Oversee accounts, roles, permissions, and content governance across both platforms.
• Monitor performance of platforms, refresh schedules, and resolve issues.
• Assist with upgrades, patching, and licensing management.
• Implement Row-Level Security across Tableau and Power BI.
• Embed Tableau dashboards using Connected Apps with JWT-based single sign-on.
• Facilitate enterprise authentication integrations and ensure compliance with federal security standards, such as FedRAMP and agency ATO requirements.
• Coordinate with portal and application development teams on the implementation of API embedding.
• Operate within AWS GovCloud and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Support analytics workloads on Databricks, including consumption of Delta Lake and coordination of pipelines.
• Assist with infrastructure setup and deployment through Terraform and GitLab.
• Collect and refine reporting requirements in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, dashboard reviews, and user acceptance testing.
• Produce technical documentation, data dictionaries, dashboard specifications, and user guides.
• Provide training and support for end users and report consumers.
• Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 12+ years of experience, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in developing dashboards and reports using Tableau.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in developing dashboards and reports with Microsoft Power BI.
• Proficient in SQL for data querying, transformation, and validation in relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M language) for Power BI data modeling.
• Experience administering Tableau Server, including user management, permissions, and extract scheduling.
• Experience with Power BI Service administration, including workspace management, gateway configuration, and capacity planning.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) in both Tableau and Power BI.
• Skilled in embedding BI dashboards within web applications using SSO and API-based integration.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and analytics best practices.
• Preferred: experience in supporting federal government programs, especially within DoD or civilian agencies.
• Preferred: familiarity with FedRAMP compliance requirements and agency ATO processes.
• Preferred: experience in AWS GovCloud or Microsoft Azure Government environments.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Preferred: experience with AWS Redshift, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Glue, and Lambda.
• Preferred: knowledge of Terraform and GitLab for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD processes.
• Preferred: experience with Tableau Next, Tableau Cloud, or AI-infused analytics.
• Preferred: experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
• Preferred certifications include Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), or Databricks Certified Associate Developer.
• Nice to have: experience with SAP BusinessObjects, IBM Cognos, Domo, Sisense, Python, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, machine learning, NLQ, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, and Microsoft Dataverse.
