Bengali/Sylheti VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology used in the industry you are interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical fields. Training will be provided.

• Ensure that all messages are conveyed accurately and completely, without any additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing accurate and complete interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show enthusiasm for acquiring new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Bengali / Sylheti."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not required.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is a plus, though not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
