Bengali VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary used in the industry you are interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medicine. Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Apply established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Bengali".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, but not essential.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language is required.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Exhibit strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.

• Must meet various technical requirements for your computer setup.
