This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Manage medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending, and 401(k) benefit programs.
• Oversee paid time off and leave-of-absence programs in accordance with FMLA and ADA regulations.
• Create, implement, and maintain company benefit programs.
• Deliver front-line customer service and support for benefits-related inquiries.
• Reconcile monthly benefit-plan invoices with vendor invoices, internal records, and payroll deductions.
• Conduct research and compile data for benefit surveys and reports.
• Assist with the annual open enrollment process, including communications, planning, and vendor implementation.
• Keep plan documents and administrative procedures up to date.
• Coordinate and disseminate benefits information on the company intranet.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with payroll on benefits deductions and reporting.
• Support managers and employees with leave eligibility and application procedures.
• Evaluate LOA, FMLA, and ADA requests and provide recommendations for approval or denial.
• Maintain communication regarding expirations, late premium notices, leave programs, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Monitor leave and Workers’ Compensation timelines along with return-to-work statuses.
• Calculate insurance payments owed for separating employees, transfers, and employees on leave.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; a master's degree is a plus.
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Comprehensive knowledge of health and welfare plans, FMLA, ADA, LOA, HIPAA, ERISA, and payroll processes.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
• Capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership skills and the capacity to work collaboratively across functions.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Experience in coaching employees and managers.
• Must pass a substance abuse screening after receiving an offer and before starting work.
• Must be able to work in a safety-sensitive role.
