This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main administrator and internal liaison for Penn Mutual's leave of absence and disability programs.

• Oversee FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, caregiver leave, state-paid family and medical leave programs, and military leave.

• Assist employees in understanding their leave options and eligibility criteria.

• Engage in sensitive and confidential conversations regarding medical issues, caregiving duties, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work strategies.

• Collaborate with leave vendors, Payroll, managers, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs).

• Keep abreast of changing federal and state leave regulations.

• Reconcile monthly invoices from carriers and eligibility files.

• Aid in funding for health savings accounts.

• Audit contributions from both employees and employers for benefits.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in enrollment and payroll.

• Work in conjunction with HRIS and Payroll on funding and reconciliation tasks.

• Conduct quality control checks for deductions and vendor payments.

• Reconcile activities related to retirement plan contributions and distributions for deferred compensation.

• Manage COBRA administration.

• Handle inquiries through the benefits shared mailbox.

• Be the primary point of contact for questions related to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and voluntary benefits.

• Assist with annual enrollment and benefits communication initiatives.

• Address unemployment claims.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits administration.

• Proven experience in managing leave programs, including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, and multi-state paid family and medical leave.

• Experience in conducting confidential discussions regarding employee medical matters and leave requirements.

• Direct experience with Workday Benefits Administration is essential.

• Background in reconciling carrier invoices, vendor billing, and payroll contributions.

• Experience with outsourced leave vendors and third-party administrators.

• Strong knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and related benefits regulations.

• Experience in administering qualified retirement plans and non-qualified deferred compensation (preferred).

• SHRM certification is preferred.

• Experience in the financial services sector or a highly regulated environment is preferred.
