This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to Alliant's clients by providing confidential and professional support and guidance.
• Inform HR personnel and employees about their benefits.
• Serve as a liaison with insurance carriers to address claims and benefits concerns.
• Record all relevant information accurately.
• Support the Manager with daily departmental tasks, including workload distribution, call staffing, and recruitment assistance.
• Act as the primary contact for escalated matters.
• Train new team members and facilitate cross-training among employees.
• Develop and uphold departmental work processes.
• Aid HR, employees, and covered dependents in comprehending their benefits.
• Investigate benefits and claims matters by reaching out to insurance companies and provider offices, reviewing billing statements and EOBs, correcting processing errors, and collaborating with vendors regarding eligibility issues.
• Respond to phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
• Provide continuous support for enrollment and eligibility inquiries.
• Document issues following departmental standards and maintain paper call logs.
• Assist Sales and Account Management teams during enrollment meetings and benefit fairs.
• Generate client and/or insurance carrier reports on call activity and offer constructive feedback.
• Adhere to department-specific HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in bi-monthly meetings, group discussions, and departmental training sessions.
• Maintain complete and accurate data within the agency management system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Benefits, focusing on eligibility, claims resolution, and benefits education, or a comparable background.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal abilities and customer service aptitude.
• Strong organizational skills with effective time management, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities.
• Proficient systems knowledge or the ability to learn and troubleshoot new systems effortlessly.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
