Behavioral Health Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of Therapists and Care Extenders in executing programs, assisting members, and achieving outcomes for health plan partners.

• Serve as both a team member and coach by guiding members through difficult situations while mentoring Therapists and Care Extenders.

• Develop individualized service plans for members utilizing screenings, discussions, data analysis, and knowledge of community resources.

• Support members in managing challenges and triggers, enhancing relapse prevention, and minimizing risk.

• Inform members about mental and physical health issues, abuse, violence prevention, medication, and available community resources.

• Track, assess, and document member progress against defined measurable goals.

• Establish accountability communications regarding scheduled appointments.

• Collaborate with members, families, physicians, and other providers to minimize unnecessary resource use.

• Report critical incidents and any quality-of-care concerns.

• Create communication strategies to engage the member group and assist in achieving member goals.

• Evaluate risks and perform crisis interventions in accordance with established safety plans.

• Design and coordinate community resource guides that focus on medical health, behavioral health, violence prevention, and social services.

• Ensure members receive accurate diagnoses, comprehensive service plans, and consistent progress towards program completion.

• Lead CareMind teams, manage caseloads, refer new members, and ensure schedules align with program requirements.

• Engage in screening, interviewing, and hiring new team personnel.

• Provide onboarding and training, conduct performance evaluations, and offer ongoing coaching to team members.

• Direct enrollment efforts for new markets or existing cohorts.

• Ensure team performance meets or exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs) and partner outcome expectations.

• Review documentation for quality assurance and training purposes.

• Analyze team performance, identify deficiencies, and develop improvement strategies.

• Gather and analyze member outcome data to enhance training, market insights, partner relationships, and results.

• Facilitate internal case review sessions and attend external case management meetings with health plan partners.

• Maintain program-related and administrative data, reports, statistical records, and other necessary data collections.

• Collaborate with the billing department to review claims and ensure they accurately reflect the services rendered.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in behavioral health, social work, or health care management from an accredited institution is required.

• An independent clinical behavioral health license in the state of Nevada is mandatory.

• Acceptable licenses include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

• Proven experience in leading, developing, and implementing programs with successful outcomes.

• Prior experience in Health Coaching or Medical Social Work is preferred.

• Familiarity with suicide prevention and crisis intervention in adolescent and young adult populations, as well as those with severe mental illness, is preferred.

• Experience in managing interdisciplinary care teams is preferred.

• Knowledge of ensuring care delivery complies with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Ability to establish, maintain, and enhance relationships and partnerships.

• A history of identifying needs and proactively implementing changes.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively while prioritizing multiple tasks and assignments.

• Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficient in clearly conveying information to staff, business partners, stakeholders, and clients.

• Ability to collaborate effectively to set goals, resolve issues, and make informed decisions.

• Competence in providing case/care management in both routine and crisis situations.
