This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Adhere to the behavioral and educational guidelines established by the designated behavioral clinician and BSS team.
• Assist in data collection, observation, report preparation, protocols, and the development of behavior plans.
• Execute behavior plans under the guidance of behavioral clinicians and professional staff.
• Provide insights on clinical and environmental obstacles to effective implementation.
• Support the training of caregivers in behavioral interventions and techniques.
• Deliver behavioral support services in various settings, including day programs, residential facilities, foster care, family environments, respite sites, and other designated locations.
• Keep precise behavioral data and documentation.
• Adhere to MA Waiver billing timelines and ensure accurate database entries.
• Assist in making community integration recommendations.
• Help cover open behavioral respite shifts.
• Conduct follow-up visits and document observations for the behavioral clinician.
• Complete in-service requirements and renewal schedules.
• Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize non-aversive behavior management techniques, including physical restraints and carries.
• Restrain or hold clients as necessary during behavioral management situations.
• Work flexible hours and participate in rotating on-call shifts.
• Attend supervision, treatment team meetings, agency meetings, training sessions, and other activities.
• Maintain communication across departments and perform additional assigned duties.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services with a minimum of 2 years of full-time related experience, OR a high school diploma with 4 years of full-time professional experience in developmental disabilities.
• At least 1 year of experience directly implementing formal behavior plans for individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors and behavioral crises.
• Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training within 90 days of employment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong command of the English language, both oral and written.
• Ability to plan, organize, maintain workflow, and manage diverse priorities effectively.
• Capability to work professionally with consultants, provider agencies, families, and the public.
• Ability to work remotely for 40 hours per week while fulfilling and documenting responsibilities.
• Competence in working with behaviorally challenged individuals.
• Capability to walk and lift over 50 pounds; job duties may involve lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain various postures, including kneeling, sitting on the floor, running, and lifting.
• Ability to sustain high energy levels and a calm demeanor during therapeutic interventions.
• Successful background check is mandatory.
