BAS Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead technical and project initiatives for BAS, PMS/EPMS, controls integration, and smart building solutions.

• Design and plan BAS/PMS and integrated control systems.

• Develop, document, and uphold DLB controls, BAS, EPMS, and specification standards.

• Oversee the scopes of subconsultants, including objectives, construction drawings, and technical specifications.

• Evaluate subconsultant deliverables for thoroughness, accuracy, project alignment, as well as compliance with codes and regulations utilizing the DLB QAQC process.

• Collaborate with project teams and external partners to ensure adherence to scope, quality, and timely delivery.

• Create and manage design drawings, sequences of operations, and specifications.

• Support AutoCAD and Revit engineering drawings, which encompass floor plans, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and control panel diagrams.

• Coordinate BAS-related elements with MEP trades.

• Recognize scope changes and assist in minimizing impacts on costs and timelines.

• Manage project deliverables when not acting as the lead design engineer.

• Provide training on standards, guidance, and compliance support to staff and outsourced partners.

• Review and manage shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, punch lists, and project closeout documentation.

• Assist with construction administration tasks.

• Manage and conduct onsite BAS engineering audits, feasibility studies, and retrofit assessments.

• Prepare and supervise project progress and departmental reports.

• Administer project contracts.

• Utilize AI and digital tools to enhance efficiency and improve work quality.

• Identify process enhancements and support the adoption of new technologies.

• Act as the technical lead or primary project contact, coordinating engineering and production staff as necessary.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, construction, or related fields.

• At least 8 years of experience in BAS controls systems engineering.

• In-depth knowledge of open-source protocols, including BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.

• Familiarity with IoT and smart building solutions.

• Understanding of standard data center control redundancy strategies.

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction of mission-critical or commercial buildings.

• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• Capacity to leverage AI and emerging technologies for workflow optimization and process enhancement.

• Effective in working successfully in a remote setting.

• Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.

• Commitment to following company and site safety protocols.

• Capability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.

• Proficient in conveying technical and non-technical information both orally and in writing.

• Ability to communicate directly with clients and serve as the primary client contact when required.

• Competent in working independently as well as collaboratively with moderate supervision.

• Skilled in planning and delegating tasks to others.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

• Ability to meet physical demands, including remaining stationary, navigating through office/facility environments, and occasionally moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% to client sites, partner offices, or company events across the U.S.
