Backup & Storage Product Architect – IT Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and architecture of enterprise-grade backup and storage solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid settings.

• Assess and propose backup and storage technologies, platforms, and vendors.

• Create and sustain architectural roadmaps, standards, policies, and guidelines.

• Work in collaboration with infrastructure, applications, security, and operations teams.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and administrators.

• Perform performance analysis, capacity planning, and troubleshooting activities.

• Ensure adherence to data retention policies, disaster recovery objectives, and regulatory standards.

• Foster continuous improvement in processes, automation, and operational efficiency.

• Manage vendor relationships and engage in technical discussions.

• Generate and maintain documentation related to backup and storage architectures and configurations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure with a strong emphasis on backup and storage technologies.

• Demonstrated experience as an architect or lead engineer in the design and implementation of large-scale enterprise backup and storage solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of backup technologies such as Commvault and their underlying architectures.

• Extensive understanding of SAN, NAS, and object storage systems like S3.

• Strong grasp of AWS S3, Azure Blob, and cloud-native backup strategies.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell.

• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and data replication strategies.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Relevant industry certifications are highly preferred.

• Fluency in English is essential.
