This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
β’ Complete a comprehensive 6β7 week full-time training program for new Investigators to achieve certification in the Federal Investigative Standards.
β’ Engage in daily travel to conduct in-person background investigations, evaluating employment suitability for individuals who need access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
β’ Arrange and carry out face-to-face interviews with subjects, as well as their neighbors, employers, friends, and family members.
β’ Execute record searches at police departments, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities.
β’ Accurately type and report collected information in a clear and concise manner using a government-issued computer system.
β’ Operate independently while also collaborating with a team of Investigators and a Field Manager.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree may be accepted.
β’ Preferred experience in conducting federal background investigations.
β’ Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret eligible clearance.
β’ An active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication is preferred.
β’ U.S. citizenship is required.
β’ Daily local and out-of-area travel is necessary as needed.
β’ Temporary Duty Assignments/remote travel of 14β30 days away from home may be required.
β’ Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Springfield city center.
β’ A valid driver's license and consistent access to reliable transportation are mandatory.
β’ Adequate motor vehicle insurance is required.
β’ Typing skills should be accurate and efficient; a speed of 40+ WPM is recommended.
β’ Ability to work with multiple computer applications simultaneously.
β’ Capability to speak for extended durations and hear adequately for in-person and phone communications.
β’ Proficient in recording, reading, and transcribing words and numbers accurately.
β’ Strong grammar and writing abilities are essential.
β’ Must interact professionally, be able to write for extended periods, adhere to attendance and punctuality requirements, and maintain a keen attention to detail.
β’ High standards of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity are expected.
β’ Professional attire is required.
β’ Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for prolonged periods, and drive in adverse weather or nighttime conditions.
β’ Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment under remote supervision.
β’ Strong organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills are necessary.
β’ Excellent writing and communication skills are required.
β’ Full-time employment.
β’ Comprehensive 6β7 week new Investigator training, available both virtually and in-person.
β’ Possible eligibility for overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary.
β’ A home office is required.
β’ A company-issued computer system will be provided for reporting purposes.
