Backend Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Guide the team across various workstreams, ensuring top-notch delivery in every sprint.

• Take ownership of prioritization, capacity planning, and alignment on sprint objectives.

• Act as a liaison between the team and other departments, eliminating obstacles and managing dependencies.

• Foster team development through coaching, constructive feedback, and identifying skill gaps.

• Spearhead the design of features that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

• Lead large-scale, cloud-based development utilizing Node.js, AWS, and MongoDB.

• Perform code reviews and advocate for best practices in architecture and performance.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features from inception to release.

• Participate in technical customer meetings to address requirements, challenges, and integrations.

• Serve as the technical lead for the domain and coordinate with Customer Success.

• Propel technical decisions regarding product enhancements and new functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of practical software development experience.

• 3–5 years in a technical leadership or Team Lead position.

• In-depth hands-on expertise with Node.js — essential.

• Strong proficiency with AWS — essential.

• Familiarity with React — preferred.

• Experience with Python — advantageous.

• Background in working with MongoDB.

• Extensive experience in designing and constructing scalable backend systems.

• Proven track record of managing technical execution across multiple workstreams.

• Robust understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and clean code principles.

• Experience delivering complete features and projects from design to production.

• Experience in a dynamic product environment.

• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to make technical decisions autonomously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience leading or working with global or distributed teams.

• Ability to clearly articulate complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Participation in customer-facing technical discussions.

• Practical application of AI and modern tools in software development, developer experience, automated testing, technical prototyping, development workflows, internal processes, system performance, and scalability.
