Backend Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee the team across various workstreams, ensuring exceptional delivery and effective execution during each sprint.

• Take charge of sprint planning, which includes prioritizing tasks, capacity planning, and aligning on sprint objectives and deliverables.

• Serve as the main liaison between the team and other departments, eliminating obstacles and managing inter-team dependencies.

• Enhance team productivity and individual skills through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and identifying skill deficiencies.

• Direct the technical design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable features and solutions.

• Engage directly in high-scale, cloud-based development utilizing Node.js, AWS, and MongoDB.

• Perform code reviews and advocate for best practices in architecture, maintainability, performance, and engineering quality.

• Collaborate with Product Managers from the initial feature concept and technical design through development, release, and production phases.

• Take part in technical discussions with customers to address requirements, challenges, integrations, and product-related topics.

• Act as the technical point of contact for the domain and manage communication with OX's internal Customer Success teams.

• Facilitate technical discussions and decisions regarding product enhancements, new features, and planning.

• Incorporate AI tools and workflows into daily development processes, including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and prompt-driven prototyping.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on software development experience.

• 3 to 5 years in a technical leadership or Team Lead position.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in Node.js — a must-have.

• Strong proficiency with AWS — a must-have.

• Experience with React — preferred.

• Familiarity with Python — advantageous.

• Experience working with MongoDB.

• Significant experience in designing and building scalable backend systems.

• Proven track record in managing technical execution across various workstreams.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and clean code principles.

• Experience in delivering complete features and projects from design to production.

• Background in a dynamic product environment.

• Strong sense of ownership with the ability to make independent technical decisions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Experience leading or collaborating with global or distributed teams.

• Ability to convey complex technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in participating in customer-facing technical discussions.
