Backend Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead the team across various workstreams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results and effective execution during each sprint.

• Take ownership of sprint planning, which includes prioritization, capacity planning, and achieving alignment on sprint objectives and deliverables.

• Act as the main link between the team and other departments, facilitating the removal of obstacles and managing dependencies across teams.

• Enhance team velocity and individual skill sets through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and identifying skill gaps.

• Direct the technical design of features and solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

• Engage directly in high-scale, cloud-based development using technologies such as Node.js, AWS, and MongoDB.

• Conduct code reviews while promoting best practices in architecture, maintainability, performance, and engineering.

• Collaborate with Product Managers throughout the entire process from feature conception and technical design to development, release, and production.

• Participate in technical discussions with clients concerning requirements, challenges, integrations, and product-related topics.

• Serve as the technical point of contact for the domain and manage communication with OX’s internal Customer Success teams.

• Lead technical discussions and make decisions regarding product enhancements, new features, and planning.

• Integrate AI tools and workflows into the development process, including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and prompt-driven prototyping.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of hands-on software development experience.

• 3 to 5 years in a technical leadership or Team Lead position.

• Deep expertise in Node.js is essential.

• Strong experience with AWS is required.

• Familiarity with React is preferred.

• Experience with Python is advantageous.

• Proficiency in working with MongoDB.

• Extensive experience in designing and building scalable backend systems.

• Demonstrated ability to manage technical execution across various workstreams.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and clean coding principles.

• Proven experience in delivering end-to-end features and projects from design through to production.

• Experience in a fast-paced product environment.

• Strong ownership mentality and the capability to make independent technical decisions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in leading or collaborating with global or distributed teams.

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in participating in customer-facing technical discussions.
