Backend Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belarus.

📋 Description

• Guide the team through various workstreams, ensuring exceptional quality in every sprint.

• Take ownership of prioritization, capacity management, and alignment with sprint objectives.

• Collaborate across teams to eliminate obstacles and oversee dependencies.

• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to enhance team skills and productivity.

• Spearhead the design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable features.

• Remain actively engaged in high-volume, cloud-based development utilizing Node.js, AWS, and MongoDB.

• Carry out code reviews and advocate for best practices in architecture and performance.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features from initial concept to final release.

• Participate in customer technical meetings to address requirements, challenges, and integrations.

• Serve as the technical lead for the domain and work closely with Customer Success.

• Propel technical decisions regarding product enhancements and new functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of practical software development experience.

• 3 to 5 years in a technical leadership or Team Lead position.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in Node.js — essential.

• Strong proficiency with AWS — essential.

• Familiarity with React — preferred.

• Experience with Python — beneficial.

• Background working with MongoDB.

• Significant experience in designing and constructing scalable backend systems.

• Proven track record in managing technical execution across various workstreams.

• In-depth understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and clean code principles.

• Experience in delivering complete features and projects from design to production.

• Experience in a dynamic product environment.

• Strong sense of ownership and ability to make autonomous technical decisions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Experience in leading or collaborating with global or distributed teams.

• Ability to clearly convey complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in customer-facing technical discussions.

• Practical knowledge of AI and modern tools in software development, developer experience, automated testing, technical prototyping, development workflows, internal processes, system performance, and scalability.
