Backend Engineer, TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance backend code primarily using TypeScript

• Establish and manage metrics dashboards for production environments

• Modify existing code to accommodate new metrics and enhance system observability

• Configure alerts and collaborate closely with DevOps to optimize production systems

• Automate deployment processes and operational reporting to Slack

• Conduct testing on production systems, identify and resolve issues, and correct bugs

• Refine and improve the current codebase

• Create and sustain automated tests

• Enhance and optimize deployment workflows

• Implement code improvements as new requirements arise

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

• Over 2 years of experience in a backend software engineering position

• Proficient in TypeScript development

• Strong understanding of backend software engineering principles

• Good grasp of metrics, monitoring, and alerting methodologies

• Capable of debugging and troubleshooting production environments

• Skilled in writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Able to implement dependable improvements to existing systems

• Nice to have: experience with Go

• Nice to have: familiarity with Datadog, OpenObserve, and/or creating Slack bots or integrations

• Nice to have: knowledge of web scraping and browser automation, including Playwright
