Backend Engineer – Java, KYC Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Work in partnership with key stakeholders to translate business needs into robust services featuring well-structured code and comprehensive tests.

• Take the initiative in performance optimization and incident resolution.

• Create and uphold high-quality technical documentation.

• Develop superior code, adhere to industry best practices, and promote engineering excellence.

• Collaborate with engineering teams and provide mentorship to junior colleagues.

• Construct a large-scale KYC platform that facilitates seamless customer onboarding.

• Introduce cutting-edge KYC products and integrate both regional and global compliance vendors.

• Utilize AI/ML responsibly while complying with both global and local regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 4 years of professional experience in developing high-throughput distributed applications.

• Strong proficiency in core Java and the Spring Framework.

• Proficient in MySQL and familiar with at least one NoSQL database.

• Skilled in distributed system design and knowledgeable about at least one messaging middleware and its foundational design principles.

• Quick to learn and capable of performing under pressure.

• Adept at collaborating with a remote team across various time zones.

• Experience in performance tuning on JVM, SQL, RPC, etc. is desirable.

• Background in KYC or Compliance is an advantage.
