Backend Engineer – Core APIs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Develop high-performance backend systems and infrastructure for extensive real-time data processing.

• Design, implement, and enhance backend systems tailored for real-time data processing and web services.

• Integrate backend components with various services to guarantee performance and scalability.

• Take full ownership of features from initial concept through to final deployment.

• Analyze and troubleshoot problematic features through in-depth investigations, research, hypothesis formulation, experiments, and root-cause analysis.

• Perform performance tuning, debugging, and testing to ensure systems are reliable and efficient.

• Share engineering best practices and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives.

• Engage in a shared on-call rotation.

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in backend development.

• Proven experience in GoLang and/or Node.js, with a desire to learn.

• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems.

• Familiarity with building and optimizing APIs, real-time data processing systems, and microservices architectures.

• Strong understanding of SQL along with experience in DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.

• Proficiency in using Git, IDEs, shell scripting, and CI/CD practices.

• Fluent in English for effective communication within a global remote team.

• Capable of working independently while effectively collaborating as a team member.

• Must be authorized to work from your home location.

• Preferred: BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Preferred: Experience with TypeScript, Express, ClickHouse, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Datadog, Docker, Kubernetes, large open-source projects, and internet security and privacy mechanisms.

• Preferred: Demonstrated experience with both Node.js and Go in a backend capacity.
