Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain Python pipelines that are fundamental to the marketing data integration and ELT platform.

• Extract data from external APIs, standardize it, and ensure reliable delivery at scale.

• Manage API integrations comprehensively, addressing rate limits, pagination, custom authentication, and varying error handling across numerous sources.

• Deploy production-ready, clean, and thoroughly tested Python code with pytest coverage and regular code reviews.

• Maintain the speed and reliability of pipelines through concurrency, caching, and intelligent data modeling as volumes increase.

• Collaborate asynchronously with a compact, experienced team of engineers, product managers, and support personnel.

• Expand the platform that serves over 6,000 customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional programming experience.

• Proficient in production-level Python.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, concurrency (threads/async), and data structures.

• Familiarity with Linux development and production environments.

• Experience in integrating third-party APIs and navigating their complexities.

• Self-sufficient, able to work asynchronously, and comfortable in a fully remote contractor-based setup.

• Basic knowledge of SQL.

• Bonus: Experience with ETL/ELT or data integration.

• Bonus: Familiarity with marketing/ad-tech APIs.

• Bonus: Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis in a production environment.

• Bonus: Knowledge of Docker and GitLab CI/CD.
