Backend Engineer – Agentic AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create the PR platform aimed at becoming the core operating system for the PR agency.

• Develop AI agents that are utilized on a daily basis by PR consultants.

• Design self-learning loops and orchestrate multiple agents.

• Contribute to shaping the system architecture, focusing on workflows, data models, interfaces, compliance, and the technology stack.

• Enhance the database architecture, incorporating both relational and vector databases.

• Serve as a technical authority, influencing how getpress approaches and implements technology.

• Integrate AI into company processes and strategies, staying ahead of technical advancements.

• Collaborate directly with management to implement ideas and establish technical standards.

• Work in partnership with the current developer, product manager, Head of AI, and the wider team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in software development.

• Proficient in TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Git, LangGraph, and GitHub.

• Experience in developing backend systems using frameworks like FastAPI, Spring Boot, or NestJS.

• Familiarity with common programming languages such as Java, TypeScript, or Python.

• Knowledge of container-based and cloud-native architectures, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or similar technologies.

• More than 1 year of experience in developing AI agents and components like memory, context engineering, retrieval, and orchestration.

• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, LangGraph, or similar technologies.

• Located in Germany.

• B2-level proficiency in German is adequate; C1 proficiency is preferred, along with the willingness to complete a C1 course within the first year of employment.

• Skills in SQL, API design, schema design, and query optimization.

• Experience in integrating AI/ML models into production systems, with insights into model behavior, performance, and limitations.

• Product engineering experience, including assessing requirements from both business and user viewpoints.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is a plus.

• Experience with agentic development tools like Claude Code or Codex is advantageous.
