Backend Developer, Node.js Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical design, architecture, and advancement of distributed backend ecosystems (Node.js), ensuring compatibility with Web and Mobile applications (React/Flutter).

• Continuously enhance solutions relating to software quality, processes, performance, and new feature implementation.

• Establish and advocate architectural patterns for resilience, high availability, scalability, and minimal latency.

• Conduct technical assessments of complex initiatives, evaluating feasibility and supporting the long-term vision for the product.

• Mentor and guide on software engineering best practices, including Clean Code, Clean Architecture, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.

• Offer technical support and mentorship to developers.

• Foster a strong culture of code reviews.

• Serve as a technical liaison between backend and client-side engineers.

• Document architectural decisions and technical strategies.

• Ensure compliance with architectural guidelines and information security policies.

• Monitor APM, API error rates, latency, and the health of databases.

• Design and improve distributed system architectures.

• Coordinate strategies for complex releases using Canary deployments, Feature Flags, and Remote Config, aligning backend deployments with app/web launches.

• Develop and enhance digital channels for resellers in Portugal and Colombia, as well as solutions for the commercial management of reseller portfolios.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Node.js and the contemporary server-side ecosystem.

• Experience as a Tech Lead or Technical Software Architect within high-performing cross-functional teams.

• In-depth architectural understanding of Web (React) and Mobile (Flutter) applications.

• Advanced knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, Design Patterns, and resilience patterns.

• Proficiency with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Redis, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Experience with cloud architectures and Serverless solutions, especially AWS Lambda and API Gateway.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Bitrise.

• Familiarity with backend deployment workflows and Android/iOS app distribution.

• Mastery in automated testing: unit, integration, end-to-end, and load/stress testing.

• Experience with logging, tracing, metrics, and APM.

• Understanding of software internationalization, covering multiple time zones and currencies.

• Proficiency in Gitflow, GitHub Flow, and GitLab Flow.

• Familiarity with Feature Flags and Remote Config, including ConfigCat and Firebase Remote Config.

• A critical and analytical approach to performance, scalability, resilience, and information security.

• Experience in agile teams and the capability to work independently in a multifunctional, multilingual, and collaborative setting.
