Backend Developer, Java, Spring, Hybris

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Become a part of the backend team for a well-established B2B e-commerce platform developed on SAP Commerce (Hybris).

• Oversee and enhance a production system catering to numerous international markets.

• Engage with standard SAP Commerce functionalities, custom extensions, and integrations.

• Manage change requests and resolve bugs.

• Create APIs and implement system improvements.

• Play a role in the ongoing advancement of the platform.

• Guarantee the stability, quality, and maintainability of the platform.

• Comprehend the behavior of existing applications.

• Collaborate closely with Agile teams to efficiently and reliably meet business requirements.

• Examine issues, analyze system behavior, and assist in troubleshooting activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience as a Backend Java Developer.

• Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Programming principles.

• Basic experience with the Spring Framework.

• Knowledge of REST API concepts, including HTTP methods, status codes, and request/response structures.

• Experience in developing and maintaining backend services and integrations.

• Working knowledge of SQL, encompassing queries, joins, and relational database concepts.

• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows (branches, commits, pull requests).

• Capability to investigate issues, analyze system behavior, and assist in troubleshooting activities.

• Proficient in English (C1 level).

• Exposure to SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), even through coursework, training, or personal projects.

• Understanding of e-commerce concepts such as catalog management, pricing, and checkout.

• Basic knowledge of OAuth2 and Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts.

• Experience using Docker for local development environments.

• Background in Agile/Scrum teams.
