Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Engage in hands-on development of essential business logic utilizing Java and the Spring Boot framework.

• Design, deploy, and oversee scalable back-end infrastructure and services on AWS.

• Create and sustain CI/CD pipelines alongside automated testing to expedite deployment processes.

• Define and develop high-quality, secure, and thoroughly documented RESTful APIs for front-end use.

• Write, debug, and conduct code reviews to ensure clean, efficient, and high-performing production code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Back-End Developer, emphasizing senior-level, hands-on technical contributions.

• In-depth proficiency in Java and significant experience in developing enterprise applications using Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem.

• Extensive practical experience with AWS Cloud services for constructing and hosting highly available applications.

• Demonstrated capability in implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).

• Strong foundation in DevOps practices, including automation, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and CI/CD methodologies.

• Expertise in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) along with performance tuning and optimization skills.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes/ECS) is crucial.
